Lisa Beatty, the founder of Beatty Educational Consulting, is an independent educational consultant. She has provided personalized, one-on-one college admissions guidance and assistance to over 200 families.  Lisa earned her BS in Economics and Multi-Subject Teaching credential from Santa Clara University.  She also holds an M.Ed degree from San Jose State University in Educational Leadership. Additionally, Lisa earned a College Admissions Counseling certificate from UCLA  and completed the intensive Independent Educational Consultant Association’s (IECA) Summer Training Institute.  She continues to regularly attend regional and national workshops, conferences and college tours throughout the year.

 

Lisa has over 13 years of teaching and mentoring experience in the Santa Clara Unified School District.   She is passionate about working and helping students and appreciates the strengths that each brings.  Lisa has an extensive background working with students with learning differences- specifically ADHD, dyslexia, and executive and processing deficits. 

 

Lisa found her passion in college consulting while guiding her own children, Trevor (Texas Christian University) and Taylor (Santa Clara University) through the college search and application process.  Since then, she has visited nearly 400 colleges (and still counting). 

 

Lisa is a member of the Western Association for College Admissions Counseling (WACAC), Higher Education Consultants Association College and an Associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA).
